It's easy to cheer for her in her rivalry with snooty Lauren, and there are some positive messages about acceptance and respect to be found in her evolving relationship with less-judgmental teammates Kaylie and Payson. MAKE IT OR BREAK IT is a true underdog tale with an appealing heroine in Emily, who struggles to fulfill her dream in the competitive - and often elitist - world of gymnastics while she balances her family's financial struggles. It's about never giving upp, follow your dreams, forgiving and friendship. They never give up and keeps on fighting even though the circumstances. The girls (and boys) are very determinate and know what they want and how they're gonna get there. There's plenty of good role models and good messages. I don't consider this to be explicit content at all and pretty much everyone could watch it. A girl gets pregnant but she's over 15 so she can have sex legally. Some parties can occur, one time a girl gets drunk and have to take the consequences the day after (it shows us why you shouldn't drink). They don't have any sex scenes, just kissing. That's bad and that's why I don't think anyone under 12 should watch it. One of the girls has sex with her best friends boyfriend. The girl doesn't get to continue practise for a while and gets to see what's happening if you don't eat. She has to take the consequences of eating disorders and they tell us not to make fun of that because it's a serious issue. It's not an excuse but it's at least not because all the sick body ideals. But it's not because she thinks she's fat, she gets it because she wants to beat the best gymnast in the world. However one of the girls get an eating disorder. Audiences can find out starting at 9 p.m. Suddenly, he's getting this creative backlash, and he's really not understanding where it's coming from or why." Minx is the reason why Richie became a name in the photography world in the first place. It's also being able to be consistent with your brand versus how does the brand serves a paycheck. "Which as an artist, that's something that we can all relate to. But what will that mean going forward? "The biggest challenge is the artistic credibility versus making money," Montoya teases. Similar to Bambi and Tina, Richie also found his voice and his artistic freedom in season 1 as the main Minx photographer. Because she's always been loyal first to her family, then to Bottom Dollar, then to Doug, this is probably the first time in her life that she's ever had to truly cross that barrier in her life and step into a complete unknown, trusting herself and banking on herself." She's trying to figure out what she needs to do to break out of that. "Her efforts are not being appreciated the way that she deserves for them to be. "She knows that she's not being valued the way that she needs to be," Victor continues. Victor says, "She's facing the dilemma of she's been accepted to all of these business schools and she's trying to figure out where she's gonna land - whether or not she's going to stay with Bottom Dollar, stay with Doug, figure out what her next steps are in her life." Having something to say, having a point of view is something that's new to her and she's slowly building the strength to step into that power."ĭoug is trying to figure out Bottom Dollar Publishing's next steps, while Tina is wondering whether her future should even include Doug. "She hasn't been taken seriously," says Lowe. While Lowe stresses that Bambi loves Shelly and wants what is best for her, she also teases Bambi's own journey of self-discovery this season. It's really hard for Shelly to be around Bambi without feeling desire for her, and that complicates her new plan of recommitting to her marriage and making it work at all costs." "Bambi for Shelly is a bit of kryptonite. "You're going to see a push and pull," says Parham. Only that might not be as easy as she hoped. But what about Joyce's sister Shelly? The end of season 1 saw her tucking away her new desires and sexual freedom that she'd discovered with Bambi and Minx to rededicate herself to her family.
